SENSE OF CENSUS
2/17/10

Our government has two houses of Congress. One house is the Senate. In the Senate, each state, regardless of population is entitled to two Senators, but the other group, the House of Representatives, relies on the state’s population for its membership.
This year Arizona could be in for an increase in our number of Representatives, if the census warrants it.
The census does more than dictate our representation. Our population figures regulate federal spending in a number of areas, including, but not limited to schools, hospitals,  road building, and programs for disabled and low income people.
The census office is looking for workers. The pay is good. Bobbi Goode is the local recruiter. For questions regarding employment in our area you can call 866.861.2010.
Some people are concerned with certain questions of a personal nature. Questions about such things as annual income don’t need to be answered, but they do help in gathering information about our citizens. The important things to answer are questions concerning the number of people in your household.
In a census, numbers are important to our state’s well being. Be sure you and yours are counted.
