Navajo County Sheriffs Report


June 5 through June 12

 The deputies assigned to “Area Three” of the Navajo Counties Sheriff’s Office are responsible for responding to calls in, and patrolling the areas of Heber, Overgaard, Claysprings, Pinedale, Aripine, Antelope Valley, Chevlon Retreat, and Chevlon Acres. There are five deputies and a Sergeant assigned to Area Three, which encompasses over two thousand square miles and is the biggest unincorporated area in Navajo County.
 From June 5h through June 11th deputies responded to one call of fire, two information calls, one deceased body, two reports of suspicious activity, one report of civil matters, three alarm calls, one call of criminal damage, two call disorderly conduct, one harassment call, one weapons offense, one trespassing, one violation of a court order, one report of a vehicle accident, one citizen assist and three traffic offense.
 Area deputies made three arrests during this period. Doren Toll,47, of Overgaard was cited and released for allegedly obstructing governmental operations. Ginny Lenoir,54 , of Overgaard, was allegedly arrested for aggravated harassment and stalking. Trenton Vancleave,45, of Overgaard, was arrested on a valid warrant out of Snowflake JP.
 On May 25, 2010, sometime during the night, Someone entered on the property of 2876 Wildcat Trail and took a homemade windmill. The property belongs to Barbra Cash. The windmill was hand made by her deceased husband. This windmill is a priceless item to Barbra and her children and one of the last memories they have of him. The windmill is described as a man cutting a piece of wood as the blade turns. Anyone with any information regarding the stolen windmill please contact the Sheriff’s Office.
 Sheriff’s Office would like to asked the citizens of Heber, Overgaard, Claysprings, Pinedale, Aripine, Antelope Valley, Chevlon Retreat, and Chevlon Acres, with assisting us in placing numeric’s on residence in these areas.  This would help the Sheriff’s Office and Fire Departments with faster response times. If anyone needs assistance with getting numeric’s for your residence please call Deputy Hughes with the Sheriff’s Office.
  The rise in the number of people calling in suspicious activity may be directly linked with the fall in the number of burglaries. The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank those individuals for calling in the suspicious activity. You can help our community even more by getting to know you neighbors and starting a neighborhood watch. Contact the Sheriff’s Office for information on how to get a neighborhood watch started. Remember this is our community and we should all be looking out for each other. If you do find that your house has been broken into please DO NOT enter and call 911 right away. If you enter the house you ARE destroying evidence and greatly reducing the chances of us catching the suspect.
