Navajo County Sheriffs Report 7/10/11

Area 3 is the largest area of the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office, it covers over 2,200 square miles. Currently we have one Sergeant, six deputies, and one detective assigned to the area. Their area of coverage includes: Heber, Overgaard, Aripine, Chevlon Retreat, Chevlon Acres, Antelope Valley, Claysprings, and Pinedale.

On Monday 7/4/2011 around 1:15 am deputies responded to 2033 Cherokee Strip Overgaard, AZ reference a fight / assault. Upon investigation, Marnie Barnett was arrested for assaulting her son’s girlfriend. (1024, 1019)

On Monday 7/4/2011 around 10:30 pm deputies responded to 2123 Granite Road Claysprings, AZ reference a family fight / assault.  Upon investigation, Adam Waddell was arrested for striking his brother in law in the head with a pot. Adam was arrested and was transported to the Navajo County Jail for Aggravated Assault where he is being held to see a judge for the charges. (1024)

On Monday 7/4/2011 around 3:45pm Michael L. Scott was arrested for multiple criminal traffic offenses. Michael was arrested for driving 100+ MPH while trying to evade deputies on a traffic stop. Michael was transported to the Navajo County Jail and booked into jail for endangerment, aggressive driving, reckless driving and other criminal charges. (2921)

On Tuesday 7/5/2011 around 5pm a deputy conducted a traffic stop in Heber for speeding. The driver, Wade Accomazzo, was issued a criminal citation for driving 70 mph in a posted 45 mph zone. (2921)

On Thursday 7/7/2011 around 10am deputies responded to 2189 Rimview Trl. Overgaard to locate a juvenile with a valid warrant.  One deputy responded to the front door and was told by people in the house the juvenile was not home. The other deputy went to the back door and was able to take the juvenile into custody as he was attempting to leave the residence. The juvenile was transported to the Navajo County Juvenile detention facility for the warrant. (1018)

On Friday 7/8/2011 around 8:30 pm a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speed. The vehicle was travelling 60 mph on HWY 260 through Overgaard. The driver, Kyle Schneider was arrested for a valid warrant out of Gila County. The passenger was also arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Both individuals were arrested and transported to the Navajo County Jail. (2921)

The Navajo County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the citizens of Navajo County to mark their personal belongings with an identification I.D. number. Please record serial numbers and keep the list in a safe place where it can be retrieved later. If these items are stolen, the numbers can be placed in a stolen data base providing law enforcement agencies throughout the country with vital information. Items without I.D. numbers cannot be entered making recovery difficult.
