What better way for we here in Hebor/Overgaard could we celebrate the history of our community than have a “Visit with Bobbie Stephens Hunt” local historian & writer. This lovely lady spent 4 hours at the Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center on Saturday, February 11th to meet and greet visitors. Bobbie told stories about the History of our area and people and signed copies of her book on this same History. The turnout for this get together was outstanding and I for one again must congratulate the Chamber of Commerce for their foresight in putting this gathering together. Also during this celebration of Arizona’s 100th Birthday, Mr. Lewis Tenney, whose family are long time residents of the Heber/Overgaard area will be at the Chambers Visitors Center on February 18th, Mr. Tenney will be the guest speaker from 10am – 2pm. He will be speaking of the history of our home up here on the Rim. Take a minute or two and stop by and say Howdy to Mr. Tenney. Knowing our Chamber events, I’m sure there will be lots of “Goodies” to eat.
Let me close this dissertation by saying again, “Be proud of our Chamber of Commerce” and all the great volunteers that work so hard to build up our community. Remember all the businesses that are members of the Team. We should all thank them and shop local as much as possible.
Till next time, BE SAFE, HEALTHY & HAPPY.
Pappy
