Camera Drive for Lanee’s Legacy

What is Lanee’s Legacy?  They are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to work in partnership with those providing grief support to families who are experiencing the loss of an infant(s). It is their hope that by offering this support that families may feel comfort, peace and unity through remembering…not forgetting.

The primary objective is to ensure that every family that loses a child at birth receives a box that has captured and preserved vital memories. The family will be provided with tangible items within the box that comfort the family and assists in the grieving process.

One of the hardest things a bereaved parent must do is leave the hospital without their baby. Not only do the boxes help to fill empty arms as parents are left with nothing else as they are sent home, but the contents inside the box also provide the parent’s with tangible items that link their baby’s existence into their lives. Healing from the loss of a child begins at remembering.

Lanee’s Legacy is hosting a camera drive to support Summit Healthcare patients that have lost a baby.  The camera drive runs now through April 25 and we have a goal of collecting at least 80 cameras.  You can help by donating disposable cameras (indoor with flash) – please drop them off at Kim Mayfield ’s office in Public Relations (fifth floor by Administration).
